Newcomer Orientation Program (NOP)

With the increasing number of international assignments to Shanghai for the next few years, relocating an expatriate employee and the family represent a challenging and costly investment for most companies.  And yet, these costs are small in comparison to costs incurred in the event of early repatriation due to a failed work assignment. Research shows that 50% globally expatriate assignments end with early reparation.  Even more suffer from low productivity arising from stresses of living and working in a new and different culture, not understanding how to be successful in the new environment.

Newcomer Orientation Program and Cross Cultural training offered by the Center makes a difference in getting transferees off the best possible start by preparing them and their families for a successful China assignment.  They will be introduced to Chinese culture, business environment and lifestyle of China, before, during and after a move.  This is to shorten the learning and adaptation curve, help the non-working spouse to have a positive attitude towards change and become a productive contributor towards the growth of self, family as well as Chinese society.

Programs centers on pre-arrival , settling in Shanghai and learning and adjusting to Chinese culture (after the arrival).  The program includes
a) Inbound expatriates and
b) Outbound Chinese on Overseas Assignments.
