| Summary: | The goal of this 10-week course is to teach, in a supportive environment the amateur photographer how to gain more confidence in their photography skills without compromising individuality and creativity. The class uses a combination of demonstrations, field/in-class work, group discussions, lectures and assignments to gain the necessary skills to shoot effective photos and process prints.
On the technical side, this course will simplify all aspects of camera operation including shutter speeds, apertures, focal lengths, and reading your light meter. In the field, the course will focus on insight into frame composition, understanding lighting, and learning how to move around in the environment to enhance the subject of the shoot. Students should bring a working camera with a built-in light meter that has the manual, shutter and aperture working modes. Students should also bring their camera’s instruction manual to class for reference. Please indicate the camera type, including SLR or compact. |
