| Description | JAR is a non-profit small animal rescue group that is committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of animals through pet health care, education, and the promotion of adoption / fostercare as an alternative approach to purchasing animals. JAR’S mission and vision is to raise funding to support local animal welfare projects, co-operate with other organizations that seek to upgrade their facilities and services, inform and educate the public about animals and to work with individuals or people who have a true passion for the animal well being. |

Volunteer to go to a JAR supported project, help set up cages, pet animals or sell goods at adoption days, assist with events, etc. Speakers willing to learn about and go to schools to talk to students about JAR and animal welfare (English / English & Chinese speaking). Begin by joining us in a JAR Adoption Day to see in the practice what we are doing. |
| Frequency | Monthly activities: Our group holds Adoption Days once per month. This is a chance for our rescued cats, dogs, kittens and puppies to be adopted, and to have a loving and safe home. We also welcome the general public and families to play with the animals and learn more about JAR activities. |
