Description JAR is a non-profit small animal rescue group that is committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of animals through pet health care, education, and the promotion of adoption / fostercare as an alternative approach to purchasing animals.
JAR’S mission and vision is to raise funding to support local animal welfare projects, co-operate with other organizations that seek to upgrade their facilities and services, inform and educate the public about animals and to work with individuals or people who have a true passion for the animal well being.

Cash Usage Cash Usage: Donated funds are used for animal medical care (vaccinations, spay/neuter and rehabilitation for foster and animals in danger). All JAR staff are volunteers.

Goods Description Ad space in publications. Veterinary medicines and/or services. Pet food (cat, dog, puppy, kitten, small animal milk supplement and bottles). Cat litter. Cat scratch posts. Volunteering Foster an animal. Volunteers that speak other languages besides Chinese and English, who can help us to reach out other foreign people within Shanghai. Volunteer to go to a JAR supported project, help set up cages, pet animals or sell goods at adoption days, assist with events, etc. Speakers willing to learn about and go to schools to talk to students about JAR and animal welfare (English / English & Chinese speaking). Anyone who can help us by giving our brochures to colleagues, friends, classmates or neighbors. Please contact: shanghaidogs@gmail.com

Volunteer Requirement Volunteers for adoption days to help set up, sell JAR products and talk to people about our mission, answering questions about JAR. Volunteers that speak other languages besides Chinese and English, who can help us to reach out other foreign people within Shanghai. Volunteers to help distribute our brochures and information in the community, helping to raise funds for JAR Animals. Do you have a lot of time and love animals? Begin by joining us in a JAR Adoption Day to see in the practice what we are doing.  
Frequency Monthly activities: Our group holds Adoption Days once per month. This is a chance for our rescued cats, dogs, kittens and puppies to be adopted, and to have a loving and safe home. We also welcome the general public and families to play with the animals and learn more about JAR activities.
